Sugar Jones Sweetens Social Mediasphere

It is always a pleasure when I go to events to see Sugar Jones and she and I have been known to exchange banter on Twitter about our lives.  She does a great job and I had to have her on my show!

Sugar Jones, when asked if she is a Mommy Blogger, likes to respond, “I’m not that kind of mom.” She is a dreamer, traveler, entrepreneur, and lover of life… even when it’s not so fabulous. She has four children, ages 7 to 22.

They have taught her many tough lessons and given her much joy, which is why she forgives them for all the sleepless nights and wrinkles. The one lesson she hopes her children will learn from her is to live out loud.

Sugar is currently working with NeerLife to spread the word about the next exciting phase of their private geo-location application, the phase she calls the “honey dos get done” phase. She’s sure this application will save marriages.

Sugar and her friend, Judy (@WheresJudy on Twitter) will be in Austin at SxSW partying and telling folks all about Neer Life and the new Location Triggered Task Reminders.

Lining Up Guests For SMTV 2.0

I have been trying to figure out how to get this started again since going to Hawaii in May, I have been AWOL on this project. I didn’t realize how much work I would be doing at BlogWorld & New Media Expo that just occurred in October in Las Vegas. It was all I could do to keep up with getting speakers lined up for that show and we had a wonderful time and I had a chance to work some great people. Now of course, I need to get back to what I was doing before I got into that nose to the grindstone mode.

I am also working on getting a studio put together so I wont have the best of the best in equipment and settings yet but we will continue to talk to people and cover the hottest stories in social media and those that are making those stories. To that end, I want to start getting some guests lined up for future shows. If you have a perspective on social media you would like to share or if you are an expert/guru (yes that was pun intended) let me know and we will get you on the show. We will cover the latest in news, and perhaps what you are doing or what you are involved with in the world of social media.

I am also looking for some companies that want to sponsor some of the equipment we will need for our studio. I am going to have a radio/audio set up and of course will be taping the show via camera. If you are interested in being a sponsor of some of the needs of the studio, be it microphones, camera, and yes even green screen backdrops or paint, please let me know!

SMTV Episode 1: Our First Show Was A Success…Nobody Got Hurt!

Our first show here on Social Mediasphere TV came and went on March 31, 2009, and I must say it went much better than anticipated.  We discussed the Ethics of Twitter or what I called Twethics.  We had some call in guests, John Hawkins and Justin Parks (he helped our show go global!) that helped me get through the show and everyone in the chat room communicated nicely and we had a great time.  Now that the first one is over, I look forward to bringing many more shows about the world of social media and the happenings of what is going on in our industry.

Palegroove Studios and CEO/Founder, Kris Smith were a tremendous help.  They were instrumental in assisting with providing my mixing board, the microphones and much needed support including advice, direction and certianly the cheerleading to keep my eye on the prize.  Kit Seeborg, President of BumperTunes provided the much needed music and intro for the show.  Thanks goes out also to Steve Saylor and Keith Burtis who were also very helpful whenever I needed someone to help test something, or explain how to perfrom a task.  These guys are great help when and if you need a hand.  Finally my own team of Shylah and Tyler were great to get the site set up, the design accomplished and well, just kept helping when I kept asking.

Welcome to Social Mediasphere TV and join in the fun and be a part of the social media community!
